Marginalized and/or intersectional clientele are a good fit for me (e.g. QBIPOC). And I do my best to keep it real in our work together. I often work with individuals and families on anxieties, survivorship, post-traumatic stress, somatic/chronic pain, postpartum/perinatal mood disorders or postpartum psychosis. I also have training in psychodynamic theory and child development theory.
My approach is light-hearted and evidence informed. I often integrate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectics, and psychodynamics into my education-based style. We will certainly work on attachment concerns and healthy "relating," too.
I appreciate each of my client's humanity throughout our work together, as many of my clients have been dehumanized throughout their life course. Within each client relationship, I hope to engage in a way that is creative, informative, strength-building, and supportive of change. Likely, we will have some laughs, too!
