Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Dr. Amanda Harrell, a licensed clinical psychologist (Psy.D.). Since 2006, it's been a true privilege to walk alongside people in their healing and growth, and I'd be honored to do the same with you. Whatever brought you here — anxiety, depression, the heavy pull of shame or guilt, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, or simply navigating a genuinely tough season — my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and truly supported as you move toward the life you want.

I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and have spent nearly two decades helping clients bridge the gap between where they are and where they want to be. Whether you're facing loss, a major transition, or just feeling overwhelmed, you don't have to do it alone — we'll find a path forward together.

My approach to therapy

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — practical, evidence-based approaches that help you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and actions connect, and how to shift the patterns that are keeping you stuck. We'll look honestly at the beliefs holding you back and build the flexibility to move forward with more clarity and ease.

This is therapy you can actually use. We'll practice simple, real-world tools together, so you leave with skills that keep working long after our sessions end. My focus is on lasting resilience — not just immediate relief — and on helping you build a life guided by your values rather than your fears.

What you can expect from me

Reaching out isn't always easy, so first, thank you for being here. Our early sessions are about exploring what brought you in and mapping out a path forward together — no pressure to have it all figured out. By integrating CBT and ACT, we'll start looking at how your thoughts shape your emotions and behaviors, and begin identifying the patterns we can shift.

My goal is for you to leave feeling more in control, more resilient to life's stressors, and genuinely hopeful. If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just need someone to talk to — I'm here for you, and we'll take that first step together.
