Great to meet you!

Hey there, I'm Amanda and these are the letters that follow my name- M.Ed., LPC. I earned these letters through a master's degree from University of Houston then experience in schools and private practice counseling. I am a follower of Jesus, wife, mom, avid traveller, and wanna-be chef.

My approach to therapy

I view my role as your therapist as collaborative. We will work together to help you reach your goals. I may be the expert in mental health, but you are the expert in you! I specialize in anxiety management, recognizing and challenging unhelpful thinking patterns, stress management, and general skills building to help you lead a more peaceful and fulfilling life. My faith in Jesus is a major part of my life, and we may use biblical approaches to mental health struggles if you desire.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I will let you take the wheel and let you explain why you are seeking therapy. Typically my main question is "Why NOW?" What has occured recently in your life that lead to this meeting? In the following few sessions we will go a little deeper into your goals and history and begin to explore what makes you, you. As we explore this, we will begin to tease out patterns of unhelpful thoughts and actions and begin to work on changing them.
