Great to meet you!

I am a Registered Art Therapist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor located in Tallahassee. I work with clients virtually across the State of Florida. I graduated from Florida State University with an MS in Art Therapy in 2018 obtained a certification in Perinatal Mental Health in 2024.

I have worked in various therapy settings, including outpatient and intensive outpatient programs, hospitals, and residential facilities providing art therapy to children, adolescents, pregnant and postpartum individuals, and adults with mental health and substance use concerns. I am dedicated to providing inclusive and supportive services to clients of all identities, including individuals from the LGBTQ+ community and diverse backgrounds, and strive to provide meaningful and affirming services to everyone I work with.

I am Perinatal Mental Health Certified. When working with pregnant/postpartum people and their partners, I aim to support you as you navigate all of the emotions and changes that come with pregnancy, birth, and becoming a parent, as well as challenges related to infertility and pregnancy/birth trauma. Babies are welcome to attend with you as well!

My approach to therapy

I apply both art therapy and counseling techniques in my work to help individuals address a range of goals, including body image and self-esteem, processing trauma, and coping with anxiety and depression. I believe that the creative process can promote an understanding of emotions that may sometimes be difficult to achieve with words alone. My goal is that through art therapy, individuals will be able to gain an in-depth understanding of themselves and how they can overcome the challenges they face while feeling supported in a safe, accepting space.

What you can expect from me

During our first session we will talk about what brings you to therapy, your current challenges and support system, and past experiences that may be impacting you currently. Often we create art during discussion in your first few sessions, and once we identify a goal for therapy we usually begin creating art to explore and process emotions related to your goal (for example, practicing breath painting to reduce anxiety). You can use the art materials you have at home. Whether that looks like a designated art therapy desk with paint, clay, fabric, etc. in your home, or a sketchbook and some colored pencils on your work break, we will work with what you have when we meet! A significant part of my art therapy practice involves verbal processing as well, and whether we create art or focus on discussion will be based on what you need in the moment.
