Great to meet you!

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides thoughtful, compassionate mental health care to children, adolescents, and adults. I have a particular passion for working with individuals affected by trauma, as well as neurodivergent children and adults navigating ADHD, autism, anxiety, mood concerns, and behavioral or emotional challenges.

My background in nursing has shaped the way I practice: I believe in looking beyond a diagnosis to understand the whole person, including their experiences, relationships, environment, strengths, and the factors that may be contributing to their current concerns. For children and adolescents, I also recognize the importance of understanding the family system and partnering with caregivers when appropriate.

I earned my graduate education in psychiatric mental health nursing from Yale School of Nursing and bring experience working with children and families with complex behavioral health and psychosocial needs. My goal is to create a space where clients feel heard, respected, and genuinely involved in their care.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, and individualized. I believe good psychiatric care begins with understanding the person behind the symptoms rather than simply assigning a diagnosis or prescribing a medication.

I take time to explore your history, current concerns, strengths, environment, and goals so we can develop a treatment plan that makes sense for you. When medication is appropriate, I value shared decision-making and thoughtful prescribing, including discussing why a medication is being considered, what to expect, and what alternatives may be available.

With children and adolescents, I work collaboratively with both the young person and their caregivers while making sure the child or teen has a voice in their own care.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you beyond the reason listed on your appointment. We will talk about what brought you in, your current symptoms and concerns, your history, relationships, daily life, strengths, previous treatment experiences, and what you hope will be different as a result of care.

You can expect questions, but you can also expect conversation. My goal is not to rush through a checklist or make you feel like you need to tell your entire story perfectly in one appointment.

By the end of our visit, we will discuss my initial impressions and recommendations together. Depending on your needs, this may include further assessment, medication options, therapy recommendations, or other supports. Most importantly, you should leave understanding what our next steps are and why.
