Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Amanda Muegge, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. It’s a pleasure to meet you.

I’ve been a licensed social worker since 2021, but my journey in the field began over a decade earlier. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Tarleton State University–Central Texas in 2010 and began my career working with children and families involved in the child welfare system. In 2019, I transitioned to a case management role within Drug Court, where I worked closely with parents navigating substance use and recovery.

In 2021, I completed my Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington, specializing in direct practice with a focus on mental health and substance use. My professional experience has included supporting families in Drug Court, as well as working with teenagers and their families in school settings, experiences that have shaped a deep understanding of how life challenges impact individuals and relationships at every stage.

In my private practice, I work with adults facing a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, addiction, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, foster care and adoption issues, and everyday stress. My approach is warm, collaborative, and holistic, honoring the connection between mind, body, and spirit as we work toward healing and growth together.

My approach to therapy

My approach is relational, collaborative, and holistic. I believe that therapy should feel like a conversation with someone who genuinely cares, because I do. I create a safe, supportive space where clients can show up as they are, without judgment. Together, we explore what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to shift to help you feel more grounded, empowered, and connected.

I specialize in working with adults facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, low self-esteem, grief, addiction, relationship difficulties, and issues related to foster care and adoption. My background includes working with families in foster care, drug court and supporting teens and their families in a school setting, which gives me a strong foundation in family dynamics and systems.

As a therapist, I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, tailored to your needs. Whether we’re processing emotions, building coping skills, or simply learning how to be kinder to ourselves, I focus on meeting you where you are and growing from there.

I view healing as a whole-person process; mind, body, and spirit and I believe meaningful change happens when you feel seen, heard, and supported. You don’t have to go it alone.

What you can expect from me

In our work together, I tailor our sessions to your needs, drawing from evidence-based practices while always keeping our work rooted in compassion and connection. Therapy with me often includes identifying patterns that no longer serve you, building emotional insight and resilience, and developing practical strategies to help you move forward.

The goals we work toward depend on you, but common outcomes include improved self-awareness, healthier coping skills, stronger relationships, greater confidence, and a deeper sense of peace and purpose. Ultimately, my aim is to help you reconnect with yourself, feel more in control of your life, and create lasting, meaningful change.
