Great to meet you!

I’m Amanda, an LCSW and CSAC with a decade of experience supporting adults, couples, trauma survivors, and individuals navigating addiction and life transitions. My approach is grounding, compassionate, and collaborative. I blend trauma-informed care with CBT, CPT, strength-based work, and Gottman-informed strategies for couples. Clients often share that I’m easy to talk to, validating, and real — someone who gives both empathy and practical tools. My mission is to help you untangle the painful parts of your story, reclaim your voice, and move toward confidence, connection, and emotional clarity. I also provide an inclusive space for LGBTQ+ clients and am faith-friendly for those who want spirituality incorporated into therapy (never pushed, always by choice).

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and practical. I believe healing happens in a space where you feel safe, understood, and genuinely seen — not judged or rushed. I combine evidence-based practices such as CBT, CPT, and trauma-informed care with mindfulness and strength-based strategies. I also incorporate Gottman-informed techniques for couples and addiction-informed care for those in recovery. My style is relaxed, validating, and down-to-earth, focused on helping you understand your story, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and build healthier coping skills you can rely on in everyday life. Together, we move at your pace, with a balance of compassion, curiosity, and practical tools you can start using right away.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my focus is on getting to know you — not just your symptoms, but your story, your strengths, and what you’re hoping to change or understand. I’ll spend time listening, asking supportive questions, and gathering important background information so I can get a clear picture of what you’ve been navigating. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what goals you’d like to work toward, and what feels most urgent or heavy right now.

This session is also a chance for you to get to know me and my style. I’ll explain how I work, answer any questions you have, and make sure you feel comfortable with the process. There’s no pressure to share everything at once — we’ll go at your pace. By the end of that first session, we’ll have a starting plan, a direction, and a shared understanding of what you want from therapy. Above all, you can expect a calm, open, and nonjudgmental space where you are heard, supported, and respected.
