Great to meet you!

Amanda is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CACREP-accredited) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, both from the University of Memphis.

Her path to counseling was shaped by a genuine passion for advocacy. Before and during her graduate studies, Amanda worked at Naval Support Activity Mid-South supporting military families, volunteered at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, and gained hands-on experience serving children and families across clinical and community settings. She has since built a career working with diverse populations — children, adolescents, and adults — and collaborates within multidisciplinary teams to ensure well-rounded, thoughtful care for every client.

Amanda's work is driven by one core belief: that with the right support, people have room to grow.

My approach to therapy

Amanda's counseling approach is rooted in person-centered therapy — a framework that places the client at the heart of the healing process. She leads with empathy and unconditional positive regard, offering hope and support when it's needed most. Amanda believes deeply that people have the capacity to grow at any stage of life, and she works to facilitate that growth by helping clients establish healthy boundaries and develop meaningful coping strategies for life's challenges. Her style is original and authentic, adapting to each client's unique needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method.

Amanda has particular expertise working with children, adolescents, and families, with a focus on:

  • Suicidal ideation and crisis support
  • Behavioral and academic concerns
  • Psychosocial and emotional development
  • Psycho-educational groups in clinical and non-profit settings

What you can expect from me

From the very first session, clients can expect a warm, welcoming environment where they feel seen, heard, and valued — free from judgment. Amanda's priority is building genuine rapport and establishing a strong therapeutic relationship from the start. Whether you're navigating a difficult season or working toward personal growth, the first session is about creating a foundation of trust. Clients can expect open, authentic conversation and a collaborative approach to identifying goals — because therapy isn't just about working through struggles, it's also about celebrating victories along the way.
