Dr. Amarjot Surdhar is a double board-certified psychiatrist specializing in General and Addiction Psychiatry with over 15 years of clinical experience.

Dr. Surdhar brings extensive expertise in treating complex psychiatric conditions and substance use disorders.

Dr. Surdhar completed his psychiatry residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and his addiction psychiatry fellowship at Zucker Hillside Hospital, Northwell Health. His career includes seven years as Physician-In-Charge of Addiction Recovery Services at Zucker Hillside Hospital, where he developed comprehensive treatment approaches for patients with co-occurring disorders.

His clinical expertise encompasses medication management for depression, anxiety, and addictions, and a compassionate approach for treating all disorders.

The first visit is exploratory, during which I will obtain information and ask questions, try to get to the core of the problem. My goal is to make a diagnosis. Sometimes it takes more than 1 visit to understand the problem.
