Great to meet you!

Hi! I am Amber (she/her/hers) and I specialize in supporting adults moving through self-doubt, relational difficulties, the impact of trauma, and stress and life transitions to rediscover their authentic connection to themselves and their belonging in the rest of the world. I studied Social Work in college and graduate school and have worked in many different contexts throughout my profession including refugee resettlement, intensive outpatient mental health treatment, youth programming, wilderness guiding, and experiential programming.

My approach to therapy

My work is grounded in nature-based and somatic approaches, and is attachment-based and nervous system-informed. This means that in our time together, we will make space for your whole self, mind, body, and spirit, and your identity and experiences in the world throughout your lifespan. I hold authenticity and curiosity as core values in my approach to therapy and I believe in being an active participant on our journey together. I am dedicated to approaching differences humbly and attentively and working towards dismantling oppressive and harmful systems, beliefs, and narratives.

What you can expect from me

  • Practices for re-connecting with your body, your emotions, your spirit, and nature when you may feel disconnected.
  • Space to process experiences that may be impacting your ability to feel a sense of belonging or self-worth.
  • Space to process and move through experiences of relational ruptures or conflict.
  • Support to be with and process past traumatic experiences that may be impacting how you navigate your daily life in the present.
  • Practices to support self-compassion and self-worth.
  • Place to explore, in mind, body, and spirit, the impact of grief, loss, or transitions in life.
  • Time together outdoors during our sessions (if appropriate for our work together) and an incorporation of connection with nature, both with the world around you and your own nature as a human being.
  • Encouragement to connect more deeply to other natural beings in your daily life.
  • Practices and skills to support in navigating and experiencing emotions and stressors.
  • Grounding skills & tools to be with thoughts, feelings, or sensations, especially if they feel intense or uncomfortable.
