Great to meet you!

Hi! I’m Amber, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping clients feel heard, understood, and supported throughout their mental health journey. I provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care for individuals navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, life transitions, and other mental health concerns.

I believe effective treatment begins with truly understanding you as a person—not simply focusing on a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. I take time to learn about your experiences, concerns, lifestyle, and goals so we can develop a treatment plan that feels realistic and personalized to you.

My approach is collaborative and transparent. I want you to understand your treatment options, feel comfortable asking questions, and have an active voice in decisions about your care. When medication is part of your treatment, we’ll discuss the potential benefits, risks, and alternatives and continue to evaluate what is and isn’t working for you.

My practice is a welcoming, respectful, and judgment-free space where you can be yourself and have honest conversations about your mental health. Whether you’re seeking psychiatric care for the first time, returning to treatment, or looking for a provider who takes the time to listen, I’ll meet you where you are. Together, we’ll work toward improving your well-being, building resilience and confidence, and creating meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I believe effective psychiatric care begins with listening and understanding the whole person—not simply treating a diagnosis or prescribing medication. I take time to understand your symptoms, experiences, medical and psychiatric history, lifestyle, concerns, and treatment goals.

My practice focuses on psychiatric evaluation and medication management. When medication is appropriate, I use an evidence-based approach to help identify the treatment that best fits your individual needs while carefully considering effectiveness, potential side effects, and your personal preferences.

I believe you should understand your treatment and have an active voice in your care. I’ll explain your options, answer your questions, and work with you to make informed decisions rather than simply telling you what to do. As treatment progresses, we’ll regularly evaluate how you’re feeling and functioning and adjust your plan when needed.

Ultimately, my goal is to provide a supportive, judgment-free environment where you feel heard, respected, and confident in your treatment while we work together toward improved mental health and overall quality of life.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you and understand what brings you to care. We’ll complete a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, including your current symptoms, mental health and medical history, previous treatments, medications, lifestyle, and treatment goals.

We’ll also discuss any questions or concerns you have about medication. If medication is appropriate, I’ll explain your options, including potential benefits, side effects, and alternatives, so we can make an informed decision together. If you’re already taking medication, we’ll review how well it’s working and identify any areas that may need adjustment.

My practice focuses on psychiatric medication management rather than ongoing talk therapy. By the end of our first visit, my goal is for you to have a better understanding of your symptoms, treatment options, and next steps, along with a clear, personalized plan for moving forward.
