Great to meet you!

Hello there, my name is Amber Gambel, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a strong foundation in sociology and clinical practice. I began my education at Cuesta Community College, where I earned my Associate Degree in Sociology and later completed my Bachelors degree in Sociology at California State University, Sacramento. I went on to work in a non-profit outpatient setting while earning my Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2019. Since entering the field, I have worked in community non-profits, crisis services, inpatient and hospital settings as well as being in private practice for 4 years now.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is deeply relational, grounded in the belief that a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful and lasting change. I create a space that values honesty, transparency, and deep self-exploration, where clients can be real, raw, and authentic without the fear of judgement. I work from an empowering lens, helping clients align their choices with who they truly are and what they want for their lives. My clinical work integrates mindfulness practices, grounding techniques, and cognitive restructuring, while holding space for the idea that two truths can exist at the same time - skills that ultimately support clients in gaining clarity, resilience, and movement towards their personal goals.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming environment where you can feel safe, seen and heard. I strive to create a space where we can laugh at ourselves, sit with difficult emotions, cry when needed, and be fully honest and real. Together, we will begin gently exploring the complexities of your life while also identifying patterns and thoughts that may be holding you back. Above all, the first session is about building comfort, trust, and a sense of safety as we start our work together.
