Great to meet you!

As a licensed mental health counselor, I passionately advocate for self-care and mental wellness while working collaboratively with clients to empower and build resilience and achieve mental health goals in a safe, empathetic space for healing and self-empowerment. I am prepared to assist individuals in coping and managing emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges.

I specialize in anxiety and stress management for adults, teens, and children. I have experience working with individuals struggling with addictions and have discovered a love of helping people in this capacity. A resilient individual is able to withstand or recover quickly from challenging life events. Let me help you grow through what you go through.

I have 23 years of experience as an educator and understand students' daily stresses. Mistakes happen. It's what you do with them that matters. Let me provide the compassion and empathy you need to overcome life's struggles. I will listen genuinely without judgment and support you in overcoming trauma, adversity, tragedy, daily stress, and much more.

My approach to therapy

I believe healing happens in the context of safe, supportive relationships. My work is rooted in understanding how life experiences, especially early relationships and trauma, shape the way we think, feel, and respond to the world.

With over 23 years in education before becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I bring a unique blend of structure, compassion, and practical problem-solving into the therapy space. I don’t believe in “one-size-fits-all” therapy — every person and family is different, and treatment should reflect that.

My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and strengths-based. I help clients build emotional awareness, increase resilience, and develop tools that support lasting change.

I primarily integrate:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and healthy communication
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) to explore parts of the self with curiosity and compassion
  • Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) for young children and caregivers impacted by trauma or attachment disruptions

I specialize in working with children, parents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional regulation challenges, parenting stress, trauma, and major life transitions.

In our work together, you can expect a warm, collaborative environment where your story is honored, your strengths are highlighted, and you are never judged. Therapy with me is not about “fixing” you — it’s about helping you reconnect with your resilience and move forward with clarity, confidence, and hope.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming — especially if you’ve never done it before. My goal in our first session is to help you feel safe, heard, and supported.

During our first meeting, we will spend time getting to know one another. You’ll be invited to share what brings you to therapy, what you hope to change, and any concerns you may have. There is no pressure to tell your entire story right away — you control the pace.

We will also:

  • Review confidentiality and your rights as a client
  • Discuss your background, current stressors, and strengths
  • Identify your goals for therapy
  • Begin creating a plan tailored to your unique needs

This session is about connection, not perfection. You do not need to have the “right words” or know exactly what to say — showing up is enough.

Many clients leave their first session feeling relieved, hopeful, and clearer about next steps. My commitment is to meet you with compassion, respect, and practical tools to support your healing from the very beginning.
