My approach to therapy

My goal is to work collaboratively with my patients to help them live a fuller life. This can be achieved through many avenues such as gaining insight, learning new skills, and changing how we think and respond. My approach may vary depending on the individual or their presenting concern, but the tenets to treatment are often the same. We will work together on established goals. In session, we will examine how you are thinking, feeling, and behaving. I utilize evidenced based modalities with a strong emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Beyond work in session, you will have the opportunity for growth outside of appointments. Open feedback, motivation, and engagement are crucial to success. Growth is possible with the right direction.

What you can expect from me

During our first session we will spend time together reviewing your history, discuss your presenting symptoms, and develop a plan together to address your areas of concern. We will work together and I will guide you with specific questions for me to best understand and conceptualize your presentation. At the end of session, I will review everything, give a brief conceptualization and review our path forward for change.
