Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Amy. From my background in early childhood education, to my master's in counseling from the University of North Texas, from an internship with an addiction-focused residential site to EMDR training to clinical leadership in a partial hospitalization program, I use my wide breadth of experience to inform my practice.

My approach to therapy

Clients most often describe me as warm, authentic, and safe. I ensure trauma-informed and non-judgmental care every step of the way to best serve clients from all backgrounds. That said, the goal of creating that safety is to create a place for clients to grow, try new things, and tune into their own wisdom. I use techniques from EMDR, CBT, IFS, and ACT as appropriate to support client needs (and if that alphabet soup means nothing to you, just know that anything that happens in our therapy is open to discussion and I'm happy to explain or alter my approach at any time).

What you can expect from me

A first session involves discussing expectations for the therapeutic experience on both your end and mine. We will collaborate on a treatment plan based on your goals for therapy, which can always evolve as therapy goes on. Whether you want to get into more personal processing on day one or wait to build trust, we will go at your pace.
