Great to meet you!

Great to meet you! I'm Amelia, and I'm so glad you're here — taking this step takes courage, and I want you to know you're in a supportive, judgment-free space from the moment we connect.

I'm a Licensed Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor with over 20 years of experience helping people navigate mental health challenges and addiction. I hold an LSW, LCADC, and CCS in New Jersey, and I'm currently completing my Doctorate in Social Work. Beyond my private practice, Reclaim Counseling Services in Teaneck, I serve as a Clinical Director and Intern Program Supervisor — work that keeps me deeply connected to the realities my clients face every day.

My approach to therapy

My approach is person-centered, compassionate, and holistic. I work collaboratively with clients to understand their individual needs, strengths, goals, and challenges. I focus on creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can recover from substance and alcohol use while feeling heard and respected.

My areas of focus include promoting overall physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, building healthy coping skills, encouraging personal growth, and supporting clients in developing practical strategies for greater balance, independence in their daily lives, and free from addiction.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we'll have a real conversation — no interrogation, no labels. We'll explore what's brought you here, what's working in your life, and what you'd like to change. From there, we build a plan together. My down-to-earth style means I'll be honest with you, celebrate your wins, and help you develop concrete strategies for recovery, relapse prevention, and long-term wellness. I'm in your corner for the whole journey.

The goal is not to judge or label, but to build trust and develop a personalized treatment approach. Together, we’ll identify priorities, discuss available supports and resources, and begin developing practical strategies for recovery, coping, relapse prevention, and long-term wellness.
