Great to meet you!

Hello!

My name is Amelia, and I'm so glad that you're looking to connect with a therapist. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and proud graduate of the Hunter College Silberman School of Social Work. I am passionate about social justice, de-stigmatizing mental health treatment and supporting my clients in living their best lives.

My approach to therapy

In my practice I lead with acceptance, humor, enthusiasm and honesty. I prioritize the cultivation of a strong therapeutic relationship in order to develop a healthy, safe space for us to explore your goals and help you to move forward. I utilize an eclectic array of interventions in order to most effectively address the concerns that my clients bring into session including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness Based Strategies.

What you can expect from me

I firmly believe that people are innately resilient and come into therapy already in possession of the strengths necessary to overcome even the most daunting of challenges. From our sessions, I hope that you'll feel empowered to face life's trials and tribulations by harnessing those strengths and confidently utilizing the skills that we develop together.
