Great to meet you!

I have been working in the mental health and education fields for more than 20 years, supporting individuals through a wide range of personal, academic, and life challenges. My experience includes working with adolescents, families, and individuals through counseling, wraparound support, family interventions, and group counseling. I bring a collaborative, down-to-earth approach to therapy and believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change. I work with clients who may be navigating anxiety, self-doubt, difficult transitions, relationship challenges, or patterns of thinking that leave them feeling stuck. My goal is to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself, explore what is happening in your life, and begin to recognize the strengths and insights that can help you move forward.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, individualized, and down-to-earth. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine partnership, where you can be open and honest without fear of judgment. Together, we’ll explore what is happening in your life, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and build on the strengths and experiences you already have. I draw from solution-focused and motivational approaches, along with psychoeducation, to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and identify practical ways to move forward. I also believe therapy doesn’t always have to feel heavy; humor and moments of lightness can create space for meaningful insight and connection. My goal is to meet you where you are, listen with genuine curiosity, and help you feel more empowered in the choices you make.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin creating a comfortable, trusting relationship. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you may be struggling with, and what you hope will feel different in your life. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. I’ll ask questions, listen carefully, and help us begin to identify the thoughts, patterns, or circumstances that may be getting in the way of where you want to be. We’ll work together to determine what feels most important to focus on and develop goals for our work. Most importantly, I want you to leave your first session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the possibility of change.
