Great to meet you!

Hey! My name is Ammar Nazarali and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) & Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). I received my Masters in Social Work from The University of Texas at Arlington and have over 4 years of experience working as a therapist in private practice and as a school social worker providing therapy to students at school.

I was born and raised in the United States, as a second-generation immigrant, with roots from East Africa and India. My background has given me a personal appreciation for how culture, identity, and belonging shape people’s understanding of themselves, their experiences, and their relationships.

Outside of my work, I’m usually involved with sports (especially soccer) in some way, either playing, coaching or watching. I also enjoy travelling both across the United States and abroad, cherishing any opportunity to experience new places.

My approach to therapy

My approach is compassionate and collaborative In our work together, we'll focus on understanding what gets in the way of the life you want and build the skills to respond to life's challenges with more flexibility and self-compassion. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel understood, challenged in meaningful ways, and supported as you build a life and sense of self that feels authentic and aligned with your values and the best version of yourself.

Reaching out for therapy isn't always easy. If you're considering therapy, you've already taken an important first step. I commend you for taking that step and would be honored to join alongside on your healing journey.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, as we start getting to know each other, we'll begin talking about what brought you in, what you may have already tried, and what you want your life to look like. Together, we'll create a safe space where you can be fully yourself, explore what matters most to you, and develop real tools to move toward the life you want; even when difficult thoughts, emotions, or circumstances are present. As we have these conversations, we will collaborate on setting achievable goals for our work together going forward.
