As a twelve-year NYU-trained Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Ammari brings a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and relational approach to care. She has provided therapy across diverse settings including elementary schools, opioid treatment programs, crisis and suicide intervention hotlines, foster care agencies, homeless shelters, FDNY Counseling Services supporting WTC-impacted individuals, and private practice psychotherapy settings. Her clinical work integrates CBT, DBT-informed interventions, and psychodynamic and somatic awareness, with a focus on anxiety, trauma, relationship concerns, identity development, and life transitions. She is especially passionate about supporting Millennial adults, couples, and clients navigating complex trauma, systemic stressors, and culturally rooted experiences of healing and resilience.

My approach to therapy

She remains passionate, open-minded, and deeply empathic in her work, meeting clients with warmth, curiosity, and respect. Ammari has experience supporting a wide range of clients across the lifespan, from early childhood (age 4) through older adulthood, with a strong focus on adults, couples, and Millennial life transitions.

Her clinical approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology, Strengths-Based Practice, and Trauma-Focused CBT, as well as group therapy facilitation. She also incorporates somatic awareness and relational work to support deeper emotional insight, healing, and behavior change.
