Amy Bayer

I have experiences in working with all ages, children, young adults, middle-aged adults, and elder population. I have worked in direct practice, as a formal leader, and as an expert witness for domestic violence cases. My experience covers prevention education, working with those who have been or still are affected by trauma, and I have also worked with the offender population. In this work I have learned that hurt people hurt people, and nothing changes if nothing changes. So why not take a chance to make that change? I also know that there is always something to learn so I will seek opportunities to participate in trainings to enhance skill and knowledge base. I am happy to connect with you either online or in person. Either way that is best for you, you’ll have a safe, non-judgmental space to explore what’s been weighing on you.

My background has deepened my belief in every person’s right to dignity and worth. You have the choice on what to focus on what you feel you need in that session—building coping skills, understanding patterns, better communication or relationship needs. We can work together on finding strategies you can use in your day-to-day life. I offer daytime, late afternoon, and Saturday appointments to better fit your schedule.

In our first session, we’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what has or hasn’t helped in the past, and what you hope will feel different going forward. My goal is for you to quickly feel that you have a voice, that you feel comfortable, supported, and understood.
