Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Amy Bingen, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and drama therapist with experience supporting adolescents, adults, and older adults in outpatient and residential settings. I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Drama Therapy from Lesley University. I specialize in trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, anxiety and mood disorders, and co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, empowering, creative, and grounded in trauma-informed care. I draw from CBT, DBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, somatic interventions, and person-centered therapy. My drama therapy background allows me to incorporate storytelling, metaphor, role exploration, and expressive arts based on each client’s comfort and needs. I create a collaborative space where clients can gain insight, develop practical coping skills, and build greater resilience and self-trust.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where we begin exploring what brought you to therapy. We will discuss your current concerns, relevant history, strengths, and hopes for treatment at a comfortable pace. Together, we will identify initial goals and create a personalized plan that supports emotional awareness, practical coping, and a greater sense of control. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and clear about the next steps.
