Great to meet you!

Throughout the past two decades, I have dedicated my career to working with young individuals and their families within the educational environment, serving as both an educator and a school counselor. Currently, I hold the position of a licensed professional counselor, where I continue to support and guide individuals on their journeys.

My academic credentials were earned at Stephen F. Austin State University, where I developed a strong foundation in counseling principles and practices. I am deeply passionate about empowering individuals to discover their purpose, experience healing, and embrace their true identity in Christ. My commitment to supporting the personal and spiritual growth of those I work with is at the core of my professional philosophy.

My approach to therapy

I employ a Christ-centered approach to therapy, integrating Freedom Counseling and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) methodologies. This holistic framework allows me to address the emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions of my clients’ lives. By grounding therapeutic practices in Christian principles, I aim to create a supportive environment where individuals can explore their thoughts and behaviors in relation to their faith.

Freedom Counseling emphasizes the liberation from emotional and psychological burdens, encouraging clients to embrace their identity in Christ. Coupled with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which focuses on the interconnection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, this approach fosters personal growth and healing.

Through this combined methodology, I strive to equip individuals with practical tools and insights, empowering them to navigate life’s challenges while deepening their relationship with God. This professional and faith-based therapeutic process not only enhances mental wellness but also nurtures spiritual growth, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling and purposeful life.

What you can expect from me

Client Goals in Therapy

As a therapist, my primary aspiration for each of my clients is to facilitate a profound understanding of their identity in Christ. I believe that this understanding is foundational to personal growth and healing. It is essential for individuals to recognize that they were created with intention and for a specific purpose, which can serve as a guiding light in their lives.

I aim to create a therapeutic environment where clients can explore their beliefs, values, and experiences, ultimately leading to a deeper connection with their faith. Through this exploration, I hope they will uncover the unique contributions they are meant to make in the world.

Furthermore, I am committed to helping clients experience liberation from the various forms of bondage that may be holding them back. This includes emotional, psychological, and spiritual constraints that can hinder personal development and fulfillment. My goal is to guide them toward a state of true freedom—one that encompasses not only the absence of these constraints but also the presence of peace, joy, and purpose.

In summary, my intention is to empower clients to leave therapy with a renewed sense of self, a clearer understanding of their divine purpose, and the freedom to pursue their lives with confidence and hope.
