Great to meet you!

There's a particular tired that comes from carrying trauma or a history with substance use for years, where you function fine outside and still feel the weight daily.

I'm Amy, an Ohio independent social worker and chemical dependency counselor. For more than 20 years I've worked with people in that place: justice-involved clients, hospital

patients, and private-practice clients managing anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use, nearly 15 years of it focused on recovery.

I don't work from a script. You deserve to be fully heard, healing moves in waves, and my job is helping you notice the strength already there.

My approach to therapy

Working with me is a partnership, not a lecture. You bring what you've lived through; I bring experience and a steady, non-judgmental presence. Together we name what feels

heaviest, trace where old patterns came from, and build practical tools that fit your life.

The pace is trauma-informed and gentle, and still practical: working toward you feeling grounded and in control.

What you can expect from me

Wondering if now is the right time, or if you need everything figured out first? You don't. Your first session is a gentle beginning: we settle in, talk about what brought you here, and move at a pace that feels manageable. Therapy works best as a genuine fit, so if I'm not the match, I'll say so and help find someone who is. I'd be glad to hear from you.
