Great to meet you!

My name is Amy Enroughty. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker; I studied social work at James Madison University (BSW '09) and Virginia Commonwealth University (MSW '17). I have worked with various populations and have a diverse background including people with trauma, crisis, depression, anxiety, grief and loss.

My approach to therapy

The clients I work with are often feeling uncertain about their ability to perform skills or bring value to their relationship or jobs. You may come into sessions feeling anxious, depressed, or even lost. During session I focus on creating a safe and welcoming space where you can share freely without fear of rejection or judgement. I take a person centered and strength based approach, which means starting where you want, going at your pace and focusing on your story and lived experiences. I believe you already possess much of what you need to heal and create the change you are looking for. It is my job to guide you with questions that promote reflection and insight, while teaching new skills, offering education, and challenging perspectives that no longer serve you.

What you can expect from me

It takes time to build the therapeutic relationship that allows your to feel safe being vulnerable and open to authentic connection. I believe in a trust based relationship and going at a pace you’re comfortable with. I take a positive and holistic approach to therapy. I think it is important to find balance in your life and that self care and self love are key to healing, creating change and improving self-esteem. My goal is that you leave sessions feeling heard, a little lighter or clearer, and hopeful about the real change you are capable of making in your life.
