Great to meet you!

With over 19 years of experience in psychotherapy, I specialize in treating individual adults with issues related to trauma and abuse, anxiety, spiritual & religious abuse, estrangement, chronic illness/pain, eating disorders and traumatic loss. My expertise and specialties afford me the skills and training to work well with women and/or those who identify as LGBTQI+.

In addition, I often work with individuals who have been shunned from religious organizations or other communities/families, experiencing the wound of estrangement. I also have a sensitivity to and awareness of the needs of diverse populations when providing faith-based counseling if you are requesting this type of counseling.

My approach to therapy

My specialty is in helping you identify & address the root issues to the problems you are dealing with while teaching you the skills to deal with those issues. My approach is mindfulness-based and centered in your experiences within your body, helping you use simple techniques to help your body process and heal emotions and trauma held in the body. I also guide you through developing a kind and compassionate relationship with yourself.

What you can expect from me

Most clients who see me have had multiple rounds of therapy elsewhere without much success, or worse, with negative results or experiences. Many clients report within the initial sessions that they have not experienced anything like this in therapy before and that they feel lighter, more like themselves & more capable. My hope is you have the same experience and that you feel equipped with tools to continue the work independently.
