Great to meet you!

My name is Amy and my practice helps those dealing with anxiety, grief, and stressful life transitions find inner peace, clarity, and a new sense of self. I offer a gentle approach while providing insights, education, and resources.

My counseling background includes working in private practice, hospice, and education. My style is warm, compassionate, and accepting. I respect each individual's needs and value whatever pace of healing is necessary. My training includes various therapeutic modalities and my lens incorporates the physical, emotional, and spiritual/ energetic perspective.

I also help many Empaths and HSPs learn how to navigate life. Empaths and HSPs are often labeled “too sensitive” or emotional. They can struggle with people-pleasing behavior, grapple with creating healthy boundaries, and typically are deeply affected by the pain of others and life. If these are some of your struggles or traits, I understand and can help.

My approach to therapy

I believe that each of us holds our own answers and a counselor like me can act as a guide to help you discover your inner strength and innate wisdom. I can coach you on ways to embrace your uniqueness and understand the mind-body connection. No matter what phase of life you are in, healing and personal growth is possible. For those grieving, I can help you move through the process with patience, compassion, and understanding.

I use a variety of approaches depending on your distinct needs. I often utilize modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Polyvagal Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy, but I tailor my sessions with a holistic approach and have a coaching style. When welcomed I use mindfulness activities and meditation as well.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is simply a chance to get to know each other and discuss what you hope to get out of the counseling experience. For those grieving, we will discuss your loss while honoring your loved one and/or situation. It often feels more like a conversation and I will respect your comfort level and needs. I am very easy-going, caring, and truly understand that every person is in a different place in their healing journey. I am simply here to help by actively listening, offering suggestions, teaching techniques and providing resources. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to schedule a session. My schedule is flexible so it is best to contact me first to discuss your needs and availability. My work number is 516-715-5204 (Call or Text). I look forward to hearing from you soon.
