Great to meet you!

I am a seasoned therapist with over 20 years of experience working with clients as they navigate grief and loss, trauma, life transitions, eating disorders, and anxiety. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside clients on this journey of growth and healing. It takes a great deal of courage to explore our challenges and seek to understand, grow and change. Nothing is wrong with you, you are not broken, you are simply exhausted from trying to hold it all together and you are ready for support. I would consider it a privilege to be part of your journey in therapy.

My approach to therapy

Working with me feels like talking with someone who truly gets it. I move at your pace and focus on helping you feel safe enough to tell your story. Clients often tell me they feel comfortable quickly, like they can finally exhale. There is room for honesty, emotion, and even a little humor when it fits.

I view much of emotional pain through the lens of grief and loss. Grief isn't only about death. Grief also comes from divorce, health challenges, adoption, infertility issues, caregiving, trauma, and the loss of the life that you expected to live. Grief is present in all of our life transitions (even the happy ones): going to college, retirement, empty nest, menopause, and moving. When these experiences aren't recognized for what they are, we often feel misunderstood or ashamed.

I became a therapist because therapy changed my own life and I know how powerful it is to finally feel seen and understood. I bring both professional training and lived experience to this work. I am a mother of 3, an adoptee, and someone who has navigated profound loss and major life transitions. These experiences shape how I will show up for you!

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we will get to know each other. You can share what brings you to therapy and as much about yourself as you feel comfortable sharing. I will share a little bit about me and my style. Together we will decide how we want to move forward!
