Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and am so glad you are considering working with me! My practice includes working with individuals ages 18+. I have been a social worker for 10 years and over the past 6 years, I have been an adjunct professor at UNC Charlotte in the social work and gerontology programs. I have worked in agency settings including hospice and palliative care, cancer care, and with veterans who are addressing trauma.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is client centered and empowering, focusing on you as a unique individual, working together to meet your goals in a way that works for you. I believe therapy is collaborative work between the client and therapist, with the goal of the client moving towards their definition of a better quality of life. Every person defines that differently, that is why I have been trained in many different therapies, to find and use what works best for you.

What you can expect from our first session

Typically the first session with me is a time for me to understand who you are as a person, what is important to you, and give you some sense of who I am. I start the session with what you can expect from me, because starting therapy for the first time or with a new therapist can feel stressful! My clients express feeling heard and seen. They take away insight and information they can use between sessions to help meet their therapy goals.

I do not accept EAP coverage.
