Great to meet you!

Welcome, I’m Amy, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I’m so glad you’ve taken this first step for yourself or your loved one. With more than 20 years of teaching and clinical experience in child and family systems, I specialize in helping children, teens, and families navigate life’s challenges with greater connection, confidence, and support. I’m excited to welcome clients to Beaufort Family Therapy in downtown Beaufort, South Carolina, where I offer in-person therapy for children, individuals, couples, and families in the Beaufort area, as well as Telehealth throughout South Carolina. Whether your child is struggling with emotional or behavioral concerns, your family is feeling stuck, or past experiences are affecting your relationships today, I’d be honored to support your healing.

My approach to therapy

My approach is client-centered, warm, and collaborative. As a family therapist, I believe children do best when the important people in their lives feel supported too, so I often work with parents, caregivers, and family members as part of the process. I create a brave, supportive space where children, teens, and families can strengthen communication, work through conflict, and build healthier patterns together. If you’re coming on your own and hoping to better understand yourself, improve problem-solving skills, or heal from past experiences, I’m here for that too.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect time and space to share your story and talk through what’s bringing you in. If your intake paperwork is completed beforehand, we can use that time to better understand your child’s or family’s history, explore current concerns and symptoms, and identify meaningful, achievable goals for the future. My goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and clear about the path forward so we can begin building lasting change together.
