Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York, with both my undergraduate and graduate degrees obtained from the City College of New York. Prior to joining Purposeful Living, I completed my practicum at Queens College, where I worked primarily with college students in both individual and group therapy settings. During this time, I gained valuable experience addressing a variety of challenges, including stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, academic difficulties, interpersonal relationships, identity issues, familial and cultural concerns, and life transitions.

My journey to becoming a therapist was fueled by my personal experiences with mental health, which ignited a deep passion for helping others navigate their own challenges. I recognized a significant gap in representation among Asian mental health providers, and this motivated me to give back to my community and work towards destigmatizing mental health issues.

I firmly believe that mental health deserves the same level of attention and care that we dedicate to our physical health. My mission is to foster a safe and supportive environment where individuals feel understood and empowered to seek help. Through my practice, I aim to promote awareness and understanding of mental health, ensuring that everyone has access to the support they need to thrive.

My approach to therapy

Through an integrative approach that combines psychodynamic therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), cognitive-behavioral therapy, and holistic techniques, I provide a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings. I believe that a comprehensive approach allows for a deeper understanding of the self and facilitates genuine healing.

What you can expect from me

With time, openness to change, and a strong therapeutic relationship, my goal is to actively listen and empathize with each client’s unique experiences. Together, we will collaboratively develop and customize coping skills and strategies that empower clients to heal and grow, guiding them toward achieving the healthiest versions of themselves. I am passionate about supporting individuals on their journeys of self-discovery and emotional well-being.
