Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Amy Lottes — a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado, and Nationally Certified Counselor.

I specialize in working with adults 18+ who are motivated to grow. My style is goal-oriented, and strengths-based — focusing on what already works in your life while building practical tools to address anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship issues, stress, self-esteem, and workplace effectiveness. Clients describe therapy with me as empowering and straightforward: working together to uncover insights, recognize progress, and create real, sustainable changes. Ready to take the next step? My approach to therapy

How I Work: A CBT-Centered, Collaborative Approach

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — a proven, practical therapy that's all about real results. CBT recognizes a simple but powerful truth: our thoughts influence our emotions, and our emotions shape our behaviors. When unhelpful thought patterns take hold, they can keep us feeling stuck or overwhelmed. In our sessions, we work side-by-side to:

  • Spot those automatic thoughts and patterns
  • Question and reframe them with more helpful perspectives
  • Try out new behaviors and coping skills

This goal-oriented process is hands-on and empowering — you'll build skills to manage challenges independently over time. It's an approach that fits motivated adults who want focused, effective support for anxiety, depression, substance use, relationships, stress, self-esteem, or workplace effectiveness. Ready to break free from old patterns and move forward? Let's get started together.

What you can expect from me

Your first 53-minute session is a welcoming, understanding place to begin. During this time, we will:

  • Review confidentiality and how I work.
  • Explore your current challenges and what you’d like to change.
  • Introduce CBT basics, including the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and how we’ll build practical skills such as stress management, improved communication, and shifting unhelpful thinking patterns.
  • Set clear goals and outline strategies for meaningful, lasting progress.

The focus is on collaboration, practical tools, and helping you feel supported from the start. Many clients experience relief simply from being heard and having a clear plan forward. If you’re ready to begin, I invite you to schedule your first session.
