Great to meet you!

Hello, thank you for taking time to look at my profile :-) My name is Amy Mitchell and I am a licensed professional counselor that has been working in the private practice setting for 3+ years. If you are looking for a therapist offering a warm and encouraging space to work through the challenges of life, we might be a good fit!

A bit about my approach to therapy

I approach therapy with the understanding that an individual's mental health and emotional wellness are holistic and interconnected to all other facets of wellness, such as relational, physical, spiritual, environmental, and intellectual health. Using a combination of empathy, curiosity, and encouragement, I collaborate with my clients to process the past, cope with the present, and move toward the future with confidence and a sense of empowerment.

What you can expect from our first session

It's important to me to meet my client's where they're at by approaching therapy at a pace that feels comfortable to them. Typical goals developed with my clients address issues relating to anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationships, communication, and self-esteem. I aim to help client meet their goals by using a combination of mental health education, active listening, validation, and verbal processing.
