Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Amy. I work with adults carrying trauma and grief, especially the kind of grief that doesn't fade on its own timeline because it's tangled up with how you see yourself now. I'm EMDR Trained (EMDRIA) and DBT certified, and CBT trained, and I also work full-time in suicide prevention at the VA, so I've sat with people through some genuinely hard moments. That's made me steady, and it's made me someone who won't flinch from whatever you bring into the room. I'd be honored to be part of your story.

My approach to therapy

I draw on EMDR for the memories that words alone can't touch, DBT for the moments emotions feel too big to hold, and CBT for the patterns that keep pulling you back to old pain. Trauma and prolonged grief are where I spend most of my time and care the most about. My job isn't to rush you past what happened, it's to walk next to you while you actually process it, so it stops quietly running your life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is just about getting to know your story, gently, at your pace. No pressure to say everything at once. What you can count on is someone who's been in the room with real pain before and isn't going anywhere.
