Great to meet you!

Amy is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and experienced yoga instructor (E-RYT500) who has spent her career in wellness and mental health working with individuals of all from 5 - 86. Amy holds a master's certificate from the University of Missouri in Positive Psychology and is a graduate of Stephens College's Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. She is trained in and EMDRIA approved EMDR training with additional EMDR coursework in somatic, parts and neurodivergent affirming practices. She is trained in ERP for OCD and is currently in progress to become one Somatic Experiencing Professional.

My approach to therapy

Amy practices from a wellness model, focusing on the whole person rather than just presenting symptoms. Through a client-centered approach, unconditional positive regard, and cognitive behavioral therapy, she supports clients in developing deeper self-understanding and self-compassion to move beyond surviving. Amy aims to meet each client where they are. She works collaboratively with clients to integrate these practices toward their therapeutic goals, bringing an added layer of embodied wellness.

What you can expect from me

Your first visit with Amy is an opportunity to get to know one another in a warm, welcoming environment. This initial clinical interview allows you to learn more about how Amy works and get a feel for whether it feels like the right fit, while giving Amy the chance to learn about your history and the concerns that brought you in. There's no pressure to have everything figured out — this is simply a starting point for building a collaborative relationship moving forward.
