Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. I’m Amy Salanty, MSN, RN, PMHNP‐BC, a board‐certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with twenty‐eight years of nursing experience, including extensive work in critical care and trauma settings. I provide psychiatric care for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults, and I have experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions.

I completed my PMHNP training at Wilkes University, where I developed a strong foundation in evidence‐based, holistic mental health care. My clinical interests include trauma‐informed care, ADHD, mood and anxiety disorders, veteran mental health, geriatric psychiatry, and the intersection of mental health and chronic pain management.

I was honored to be featured in Marquis Who’s Who in America (2026) in recognition of my dedication to the nursing profession and my commitment to advancing compassionate, patient‐centered mental health care.

Above all, I strive to create a warm, supportive environment where individuals and families feel understood, respected, and empowered throughout their mental health journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each person’s developmental stage and life experience. Whether I’m working with children, teens, or adults, I focus on understanding the whole person and creating treatment plans that reflect their unique needs and goals. I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and education in a setting that encourages open communication and shared decision‐making. I strive to help clients and families feel informed, involved, and confident in their care. My goal is to support long‐term wellness by addressing symptoms, strengthening coping skills, and promoting resilience.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a calm, welcoming space where you or your child can comfortably share what’s been going on. I take time to understand current concerns, past experiences, medical and mental health history, and any factors that may be affecting well‐being at home, school, work, or in relationships. For children, I also involve parents or caregivers to ensure we build a clear, supportive picture of their needs. Together, we’ll identify goals and outline a treatment plan that feels manageable and meaningful. My hope is that you leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and clear about the next steps in your care.
