Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience helping people navigate life's challenges, complicated relationships, trauma, and major transitions. I'm licensed in both Colorado and Florida, and my background includes extensive work with veterans, individuals experiencing medical challenges, and people navigating anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship difficulties.

As both a breast cancer survivor and the mother of a childhood cancer survivor, I have a deeply personal connection to the challenges of cancer, caregiving, and survivorship. I'm especially passionate about supporting breast cancer survivors and parents navigating a child's cancer diagnosis, treatment, and life afterward.

I'm also a strong LGBTQ+ ally and proudly provide an affirming, inclusive space for individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and relationship structures. I welcome clients exploring nontraditional relationships, including ethical non-monogamy and polyamory. I believe healthy relationships are defined by mutual respect, honesty, consent, and connection—not whether they fit a traditional mold.

I believe therapy should feel like a genuine human connection, not a clinical interview. I'm warm, down-to-earth, open-minded, and comfortable discussing the messy, complicated parts of being human. I value authenticity, curiosity, and humor, and believe people deserve a space where they can be fully themselves without judgment.

My goal isn't to tell you how to live your life. It's to help you understand yourself more deeply, recognize patterns that may no longer serve you, and build a life that feels more authentic, connected, and fulfilling.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to each individual. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), somatic techniques, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and attachment-based perspectives. I believe understanding how our past experiences shape our present behaviors is important, but insight alone isn't always enough. We also need practical tools to create meaningful change.

I'm not a therapist who simply nods and asks, "How does that make you feel?" I'll listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, help you connect the dots, and gently challenge perspectives or patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

I balance compassion with accountability, insight with action, and serious conversations with humor when appropriate. Therapy isn't about fixing something broken. It's about developing greater self-awareness, emotional flexibility, healthier relationships, and the confidence to make choices that align with your values.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity to get to know each other and determine whether we're a good fit. I'll introduce myself, explain my approach, review confidentiality and a few necessary housekeeping details, and then we'll spend most of our time talking about you.

I'll want to understand what brought you to therapy, what you've been experiencing, what you've tried before, and what you'd like to be different in your life. You don't need to have everything figured out, know exactly what to say, or share your entire life story in one sitting.

My style is conversational and relaxed. You can expect genuine curiosity, thoughtful questions, honesty, and absolutely no judgment. We'll work together to identify your priorities and begin developing a direction for our work.

Most importantly, therapy is your space. You get to show up exactly as you are, even when you're not sure where to begin.
