Hi! I'm Amy, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner dedicated to helping children, teens, and adults thrive. What sets me apart is my unique combination of clinical expertise and educational background—I understand developing minds from both therapeutic and learning perspectives, which helps me connect authentically with young people and their families.

I provide compassionate medication management in a warm, judgment-free environment where patients feel safe being themselves. Quality care requires adequate time to explore concerns thoroughly and develop meaningful treatment plans tailored to each individual's needs.

Throughout my career in California—spanning private practice, community clinics, and school-based programs—I've learned that effective mental health care considers the whole person: family dynamics, school environment, peer relationships, and individual strengths. My training from UC San Francisco's psychiatric program, combined with my nursing and education degrees, gives me comprehensive tools for supporting mental wellness across the lifespan.

What truly drives my work is witnessing transformation—when a child rediscovers confidence, a teen finds their voice, or an adult reclaims joy in daily life. I believe the most powerful healing happens through collaboration.

Let's work together to help you feel like yourself again.

My approach to therapy

My philosophy of care rests on the belief that meaningful medication management reaches far beyond simply writing prescriptions. It calls for building a genuine, trusting relationship where you feel safe, valued, and confident in your care. From our very first meeting, I make it a priority to know you fully: your history, your struggles, your strengths, your goals, and what gives real purpose to your daily life.

I devote time to listening closely to your concerns, validating your experiences, and working alongside you to craft a medication plan suited to your unique situation. I'm firmly committed to informed consent and shared decision-making, always explaining the reasoning behind each of my recommendations, discussing benefits and side effects with complete transparency, and honoring your questions and preferences throughout our partnership.

I understand that finding the right medication takes patience and careful adjustment, and I'm devoted to staying beside you through the entire process, celebrating your progress and thoughtfully navigating setbacks together. I also believe deeply in caring for the whole person, considering how sleep, stress, relationships, and daily habits shape your mental health alongside medication management.

My aim reaches well beyond easing symptoms. It centers on helping you build a life in which you feel more authentic, capable, and hopeful. Between visits, I want you to feel genuinely supported and connected, confident that you can reach out with questions or concerns at any time. You should never feel as though you're walking this path without a partner.

I remain available and responsive through every phase of your care, adapting our approach as your needs change over time, and I coordinate with your other providers whenever it's valuable. You deserve compassionate, individualized, evidence-based care, and I'm dedicated to delivering exactly that with each step we take together.

What you can expect from me

Walking into your very first appointment can feel vulnerable, and that feeling makes complete sense. My priority is helping you feel safe and supported right from the start. Together we'll turn to whatever weighs on you most — whether anxiety is stealing your sleep, depression makes ordinary tasks feel impossible, or something else is on your mind. I'll gather a full background, but it won't feel like an interrogation. It's an honest conversation between two people working toward your wellbeing. I'll ask about your past mental health experiences, what genuinely helped, and what simply fell flat, because knowing your particular story lets me offer care that truly fits you.

When it comes to medication management, I'll be completely transparent. We'll look at your options, how each might ease your specific symptoms, what the research indicates, and what you can realistically expect. I'll talk openly about possible side effects — not to alarm you, but because you deserve the full picture to make truly informed choices. Every question you raise will be met with real care and a clear, honest answer.

My approach is holistic and collaborative. My broad clinical experience across many conditions means I bring both depth and assurance to every evaluation. You are an active author of your own treatment plan, and I'll honor your concerns, your preferences, and any hesitations you may carry. There's no correct way to show up. Simply arriving exactly as yourself is more than enough.

When our appointment ends, you'll leave with a clear treatment outline, a solid grasp of the next steps, and educational resources to revisit at home. We'll also set up follow-up visits to track your progress along the way. You are not alone. Taking this first step takes real courage, and I'm honored to walk beside you. That honor is something I carry into every appointment we share. Whenever you're ready, I'll be here.
