Great to meet you!

Hello! I am Amy and I'm an LMHC practicing in Florida. I have a BS in Psychology from UCF and an MA in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University. I became licensed in February of 2022, but have been providing counseling services since 2017. I have extensive experience in anxiety, depression, life changes, family issues, stress, and substance abuse.

My approach to therapy

I believe in taking a holistic approach to therapy to best serve the needs of the individual. It is important to address body, mind, and spirit. I do tend to ask questions about lifestyle and health to understand how these factors can be impacting a person mentally. In session, I do find myself turning to cognitive behavioral therapy often throughout the years. CBT is a versatile approach to therapy the suits many challenges and can help people effectively make changes and meet goals. There are so many great and effective forms of therapy and it is important to be eclectic in practice.

What you can expect from me

I strive to make a first meeting comfortable, yet productive. Therapy can be a big leap for people, especially if it's their first time trying it. It's so important to make the first meeting feel warm, inviting, and engaging. It's really important to me for someone new to leave a session feeling good about what they just experienced and to feel hopeful about the future.
