Great to meet you!

Life comes at us fast. It seems as if things can be flipped upside down in seconds. That is where I come in.

I am Amy Wieder, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania with around 20 years of experience in mental health, from crisis intervention and inpatient behavioral health to private outpatient practice. I hold a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University.

I work primarily with women — especially those navigating mid-life — and teenagers 15 and up. I have a special place in my heart for those working through grief. I bring education, professional experience, and real-life experience to every session.

I can guarantee that at some point I will make you laugh.

My approach to therapy

My approach is eclectic and client-led, drawing primarily from CBT and a Person-Centered framework. My philosophy is that my clients are in the forefront of their own treatment. We will talk about whatever you are comfortable with. Some people like to vent and dig right in. Others ease into it. It is your therapy and ultimately it has to be what you need.

I am respectfully direct. I may not always tell you what you want to hear, but I will always be empathic and honest. I also love exploring spirituality and alternative methods of healing with clients who are open to it — spirituality, not religion.

What you can expect from me

In our first session we will get to know one another, explore what brought you to therapy, and decide the most appropriate ways to move forward. I am open minded and come into this work with education, professional experience, and life experience. I did not come into the mental health field because I am without issues.

You can face life alone, but why would you when you could schedule with me. I look forward to working with you.
