Great to meet you!

Hello! I'm a compassionate and dedicated therapist, and I'm here to support you on your journey. My personal and professional experiences are intertwined, having immigrated to New York City from the Dominican Republic as a teenager. This significant transition has given me a deep understanding of resilience, identity, and the power of feeling seen and supported, especially when navigating unfamiliar environments.

My work is rooted in activism and care, with a strong passion for supporting individuals facing discrimination due to race, gender, sexuality, immigration status, or ability. I find deep fulfillment in working with any undesrved and vulnerable populations, holding space with profound respect for each person's unique narrative.

Beyond the therapy room, I cherish time with my family and have a love for creating art. Crafting and repurposing are my go-to activities to ground myself during stressful or uncertain times. I truly believe that creativity can be a powerful tool for self-regulation and healing.

I'm looking forward to potentially working together and accompanying you on your path to wellness and self-discovery.

My approach to therapy

Clinically, I employ a variety of approaches, including psychodynamic therapy, talk therapy, solution-focused work, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and executive function coaching. My therapeutic style is relational and attachment-based, emphasizing the creation of a safe and affirming space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered.

What you can expect from me

In your first session with me, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where you can feel safe to share your thoughts and experiences. My approach is authentic and genuine, and I truly prioritize your well-being. We'll begin by exploring what brings you to therapy and discuss any goals or hopes you have for our time together.

I believe in creating a collaborative environment, where your insights and feelings guide our work. I'll listen empathetically and attentively, asking questions to help deepen our understanding of your unique circumstances. It's important to me that you feel heard and respected, and I aim to foster a relationship built on trust and mutual respect.

We'll also outline what you can expect in terms of therapy structure, including the different approaches I use, and you are encouraged to voice any concerns or ask questions. Remember, this session is a starting point for your journey, and I'm here to support you each step of the way.
