Great to meet you!

Welcome. I am Dr. Ana Luisa Neal, a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with nearly 20 years of clinical experience, including 9 years in advanced practice. As a dually board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), I provide comprehensive, evidence-based virtual psychiatric evaluations and medication management for patients residing in Washington and Massachusetts. My practice is designed to be highly accessible. In addition to my advanced nursing degrees, my background includes foundational training as a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) and in functional medicine. This dual-licensure allows me to review complex psychiatric presentations with an enhanced appreciation for co-occurring physical health factors, physiological contributors, and lifestyle dynamics.

My approach to therapy

I practice under a comprehensive, whole-person framework and am deeply committed to delivering trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care that respects each patient's unique identity, background, and personal values. I provide diagnostic evaluation and psychopharmacology for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and ADHD. In summary, I provide psychiatric care informed by an integrative, biopsychosocial perspective.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect a thorough and collaborative psychiatric evaluation within a safe, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed environment. Our goal is to establish clinical clarity and a structured foundation for your mental health care.

We will review your current symptoms, mental health history, and lifestyle factors. Drawing on my dual PMHNP and FNP background, we will also consider how your physical medical history intersects with your psychological well-being.

We will identify your short- and long-term objectives, focusing on measurable outcomes like symptom reduction, improved daily functioning, and optimized medication management.

We will then co-create a personalized, evidence-based treatment plan that integrates conventional protocols with a whole-person perspective, ensuring it honors your identity and values.
