Great to meet you!

Hi! I’m so glad you made it here. This journey is ultimately about you, but here is some information about me to help you decide if you’d like my support along the way. My name is Ana (with the Spanish pronunciation), but you can call me Rys (pronounced like the peanut butter cup). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor within the state of PA, National Certified Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and Certified Therapeutic Game Master.

I love working with clients who are ready to take that next step in their own personal odyssey. Many of these clients are often looking for support exploring what it means to live authentically or have old wounds that never quite healed and are sneaking their way into their present, in the form of depression, anxiety, PTSD, or addiction. Having worked with diverse clients with varying backgrounds and experiences, I believe that every client is unique and that you are ultimately the expert on yourself, which is something I will incorporate in my work with you.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing video games, watching tv/movies, and playing D&D, all while cozying up with my adorable pupper, a comfy blanket, and a nice, hot cup of tea.

My approach to therapy

I offer an approach that can differ from client to client depending on their specific needs and where they are at in their own personal process. This will often include some combo of different evidence-based practices that will always be explored with warmth, non-judgment, curiosity, and most importantly the desire to provide a caring atmosphere where you can feel safe. That said, I am particularly passionate about doing parts work with my clients in the form of Internal Family Systems should that be something that resonates with them.

What you can expect from me

In our initial consultation and first few sessions, we are getting to know each other.

I am getting to know a bit about what brings you to therapy and what your goals are. I am learning about how your past experiences show up in your present, where those areas of strength and resiliency already lie, and what areas I can offer support and collaboration.

You are getting to know what it is like to work with me and getting a sense of how safe you can feel with me to do some good work at your pace.
