Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Ana! I'm a born and raised New Yorker, and I've spent the last 20 years working with people from all walks of life. While much of my background is in working with children and families, I especially enjoy working with teens and adults. I've worked with people dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, family conflict, and everything that comes with trying to navigate life. One thing I've learned over the years is that you can't really understand what someone is going through without understanding where they come from. That's something I take seriously in my work.

My approach to therapy

I like to understand the whole picture, not just what's bringing you to therapy. Your upbringing, relationships, culture, and life experiences all play a part in how you see yourself and handle different situations. I draw from CBT, trauma-focused therapy, and other approaches depending on your needs. I believe in being honest, asking thoughtful questions, and helping you recognize patterns you may not have noticed before. My goal is for you to leave our sessions with a better understanding of yourself and something you can actually use in your everyday life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really a chance for us to get comfortable with each other. I'd love to hear a little about you, your life, and what made you decide to start therapy. I'll ask some questions along the way, and you're always welcome to ask me anything too. I know meeting someone new and opening up can take time, so there's no pressure to share everything at once. I want you to feel comfortable, heard, and confident that we're working toward something that matters to you.
