Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Ana, an LMHC specializing in helping children, adolescents, and adults with ObsessiveCompulsive Disorder (OCD), anxiety, depression, and BFRBS (trichotillomania aka hair pulling and excoriation disorder aka skin picking).

I have worked in the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) setting for four years with clients struggling with severe OCD symptoms.

The subtypes of OCD that I have the most experience providing ERP for are Harm OCD, "Just Right" OCD, Contamination OCD, Scrupulosity (religious/spiritual) obsessions, Somatic obsessions, Magical Thinking, and Sexual Orientation OCD.

I also have experience with approaching phobias with clients, social anxiety, and responding to panic attacks.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded in evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness practices. Although ERP is the gold standard for treatment for OCD, I am also becoming familiar with ACT and I-CBT for OCD as an option if ERP has not been working for clients in the past. With a commitment to ongoing growth, I'm dedicated to providing you with the support and tools needed to thrive.

What you can expect from me

In our counseling sessions, I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can openly explore your thoughts and feelings. Creating a welcoming space for therapy is my priority. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of success in combination with the evidence based treatment.

During our initial session, we'll discuss your goals and any questions you may have. It's natural for opening up to take time, and I'm here to guide and support you throughout this process.

I look forward to working with you on your path to well-being.
