Great to meet you!

Maybe anxiety or depression has been weighing on you for a while. Maybe your moods feel hard to manage, stress is taking over, or something painful from your past keeps showing up in your life today. I'm Ana, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from Barry University and more than 34 years of experience helping people through life's hardest seasons. I offer therapy in both English and Spanish (ofrezco terapia en español).

I work with adults and families facing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma and PTSD, panic, OCD, grief, anger, ADHD, sleep problems, and family conflict. After more than three decades in this work, very little will surprise me, and you'll always be met with respect and an open mind.

My approach to therapy

My style is direct, practical, and solution-oriented. I'll be honest with you and focus on what will actually help. My foundation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), because when we change the negative thought patterns that keep us stuck, life starts to improve. For trauma, I use Trauma-Focused CBT and Cognitive Processing Therapy. I also draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing, and I bring in family therapy approaches when the people closest to you are part of the picture. Together, we'll build real tools you can use every day.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance to get to know each other. We'll talk about what's bringing you in, what's been hardest lately, and what you'd like to be different, in English or Spanish, whichever feels most comfortable. You don't need to have it all figured out or share everything at once. I'll listen with an open mind, and by the end, we'll have clear goals and a plan for where to start.
