Great to meet you!
I'm Anabel, a clinical social worker and certified trauma therapist in Texas and Washington, working with adults with high-functioning anxiety and PTSD who are quietly drowning. I've spent years studying the specific kind of exhaustion that comes from being the one everyone else relies on, and I work with people who are really good at holding it all together, until they're not.
I've been drawn to this work for longer than I've had the credentials for it. I started in therapeutic riding programs, became a crisis counselor, coordinated TMS treatment, and worked in military trauma research and a psychiatric hospital's military unit. Every stop taught me the same thing: the people who seem to be coping best are often carrying the most.
Outside the office, I'm a wife and stepmom controlling the chaos two rescue dogs bring to my household, trying to snag some peace and quiet with a cup of coffee and a good book. When people talk about me, I don't want them to label my success by my achievements or job, but by the number of lives I touch.
