Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over 18 years of experience in private practice, community mental health settings, and supervising interns at George Washington University. I am warm, empathic, culturally sensitive, supportive, and non-judgemental when working with clients. I am fully bilingual (English/Spanish) and can work with you in either of those languages.

Through our working relationship I am hoping to address your counseling goals whether they are to discover yourself, to feel better, to adjust to life's transitions, to improve your relationships, to grieve the loss of a loved one, or to find balance in your life at a time of need. I look forward to working with you!

My approach to therapy

I like to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with my clients, but I am also trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Brief-Solution Oriented techniques, Mindfulness, and Strength-Based therapy. While using an eclectic approach to therapy, I am here to work with you on meeting the needs that bring you counseling.

What you can expect from me

During our first session I might ask you questions about your life to learn about your personal stories and what brings you to therapy. I will try to get to know you during our first session to include your strengths, what strategies have worked for you before, and what solutions you have tried to the issues you bring to therapy. During our first session we will set goals of treatment, and discuss possible interventions you could try until I see you again.
