Great to meet you!

Congratulations on this major step! Since 2005, I have worked directly with clients to support recovery from trauma, adjust to major life changes, manage mood dysregulation, stabilize activities of daily living, and implement healthy coping skills. My background in private practice, outpatient care, IOP/PHP, inpatient, Crisis Team, Behavioral Consultation and Corrections forms a broad foundation for deep work. Together, committed clients and I often see fresh, unexpected, and welcome life changes unfold.

My approach to therapy

As a CCTP-II, I combine talk therapy, EMDR, and Structural Dissociation for a trauma-informed care approach. I believe strongly in the impact of attachment, and work through a Humanistic lens with a belief that we humans can, within a nurturing and supportive context, fundamentally heal ourselves of our emotional pain; this also aligns with the AIP model supporting EMDR.

I use adjunctive cognitive and somatic modalities such as CBT, narrative therapy, somatic therapy, positive psychology, and ACT, with some additional tools including guided imagery, tapping, breathwork, role-play, and creative expression/music/movement/dance. My primary interests are grief/loss/trauma, family conflict, social displacement, immigration/emigration/first generation/trans-generational trauma, divorce/blended families/diversity within families, the welfare of our LGBTQ population, and support for clients who are transitioning.

What you can expect from me

Some sessions are marked by considerable progress. Others lay important groundwork for change. I encourage the completion of "homework"/goals, which reinforce or expand upon our discussion points and act as a bridge between sessions. Many clients document these, save them as a reference library, and share them with family members. If appropriate, I recommend EMDR or refer for meds. By termination, you should have ample tools and information to comfortably move forward on your own.
