Great to meet you!

I've embraced the southern warmth, but I'm a born and bred northeasterner, originally from snowy Buffalo, NY. The University of Rochester and the University of Rochester School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry was my training ground, and since then, my experience has spanned from Rural Mental Health in Albion, NY, to School Mental Health in Washington, DC .

My approach to therapy

I see older children, adolescents, and young adults with variety of presenting problems, including: anxiety, depression, inattention and distractibility, relational difficulties, life transitions, and the complicated interaction between managing a chronic medical condition and maintaining psychological well-being. I also help clients figure out what underlying issues may be causing them problems via ADHD evaluations, Autism evaluations, and more.

What you can expect from me

20-plus years of experience has taught me to stay up on current psychotherapy and assessment best practices and techniques. I am a proponent of researched based, yet psychodynamically informed, psychotherapy. This means that we may explore the past a bit, in order to discover what is blocking the ability to acquire or integrate newly learned coping skills here and now.
